Why the Hacker Mobile? This may answer why

Ode to the Hacker

Because I come from an age where the Hacker is king... Not some idiot who breaks in to do harm... but a proud master of his technological domain. Who strives to solve the problem using all technical means necessary. Who finds holes in security... plays with them... but DOES NO HARM.. Just plays... And maybe even tells the owner of the holes.

Who hacks webs sites of those who deserve it.. Who looks at C++ and understands it better then english.. Who thinks Java is a fad and wishes it would just go away. Who looks at people who make up excuses to work with "new technology" for a resume with disdain... yet who looks at people who build new technology with awe.

Who looks at Linux... as a really good Unix... But realizes that its just Unix.. and not gods gift to the world.

Who has been around long enough to know the difference between an open standard and open source. That the world needs the former, and the later is optional.

Who has pride enough in their code to let others see it, but doesn't feel the need to show it.

From the days of CPM... of DOS... of C64s and 128s.. From the Amiga to Apple IIs to playing with a TRS-80 I/II & III. To the COCO... To playing with the acoustic couple to get it just right. To thinking 1200 baud rocked! To waiting 1-2 minutes for the damn cassette drive to load that program. To having to adjust the volume to get it to load without errors. To trying to make music by storing binary data on a cassette tape. To swapping that same tape with your sisters crappy music just to see her eye bulge out when she hits play!

And last but not least... to the hacker who knows how to make a SS/DD floppy a DS/DD floppy with a hole punch! The Hacker Mobile....
